John 11:34-36 (NLT) 34 “Where have you put him?” he asked them. They told him, “Lord, come and see.” 35 Then Jesus wept. 36 The people who were standing nearby said, “See how much he loved him!”
Truly, Lazarus epitomizes the depraved state of the fallen race. Our depraved state, compelled a loving God to leave Heaven to come to our Bethany (World) of hopelessness, pain, and predicament, to rescue us and bring us to the status of divinity – a new life derived from a relationship with Him.
Scripture records that when Lazarus was seriously ill his sisters sent word to Jesus saying; “Lord, the one you love is sick.” Jesus, the friend of Lazarus did not respond ASAP but waited for two more days, and within this period, death laid its icy hands on Lazarus. Jesus love for Martha, Mary and their brother was extravagant, yet He didn’t come when they expected Him but rather came to Bethany when in man’s timing; it was too late. Its, not too late for none in this world, as the blood of Jesus still speaks of His redemptive purpose, towards human race, sitting in gloomy darkness.
God always set His plan in motion; a plan higher and loftier than we can imagine with our peanut minds. It may seem like heaven is on vacation sometimes, when we so badly need God. Friend, you can rest assured in the loveliness of God; He will always show up when we least expect., even at the dead-end of the tomb.
Where have you put Him? This is a probe into the core of the state and condition of the man, whom God created in the very image and likeness of God. When Jesus asked Martha and Mary as to the whereabouts of Lazarus, the guy He loved so much. There was urgency in Jesus steps to reach out to falling man, (so to speak) and snatch him from the power of death; which was a picture of our sinful state. As He drew near, His goal was to show to man, heavens agenda to bring man (Sinner) back to the state of newness of life, as God intended from the beginning of creation.
” To have dominion but not dominated by death, and its derivatives”
He was moved with compassion, and was also indignant in His spirit on how low man has fallen from the status of God’s identity, to being caged in the prison of death. He was standing on ground zero, witnessing the devastating work of Lucifer against humanity.
Where are you my friend? Alive, dead or contained in a dark dungeon, without any sense of hope, purpose and direction! There are answers, in Christ Jesus. The God who came to rescue the dead and the depraved is still at work, loving and bringing life to dead situations. Jesus came to our dead-end to show the character of God; a being who can start all over again with you. He pull us from our wits ends and place us again at the starting line, with fresh legs and a new heart to run the race of life with a new identity and meaning. hallelujah!
Jesus Wept; He found Himself face to face with the works of Satan’s kingdom; an activity of the changed state of the family of the human race, which Lazarus scenario epitomize. Death, was not part of the plan; man sold His identity through the first Adam. He couldn’t control His anger towards the Devil and His deepest emotion of love towards humanity. No wonder, all the people who have come to console Martha and Mary, sensed His deep affection for the Lazarus family. They saw Love (Jesus) and felt Love (God) has come to the place where there was no sense of love, but fear and rejection. They exclaimed in unison “See how He loved him” Grace goes to where we least expect…the tomb to shine all of His goodness upon the undeserved. Jesus did not love Lazarus or her sisters because they were “sponsors” of His ministry, He love them because He is love. We did not merit His love because of our works.
“The world is witnessing the incredible love of Jesus in an unusual way. What we are seeing in this end time about the loveliness of God, is prophetic. Many are being delivered from shame, guilt, condemnation, sin, sickness into total life of prosperity, in its purest beauty”
This is love at work, and it’s not your love for Him, but His love for you. When you grasped His love; your appetite to love Him is awesome, and it affects all that you do in life. God is not just a diffuser of love; He is by nature, love. This means wherever God is; love becomes the fluid that lubricates impossible circumstances, to awaken boldness, faith, restoration etc. which are all a residue of His life imparted to us, so we can face tomorrow with peace and certainty.
1 John 4:16-18 (NLT) 16 We know how much God loves us 17 And as we live in God, our love grows perfect.” 17 And as we live in God, our love grows perfect. So we will not be afraid on the day of judgment, but we can face him with confidence because we live like Jesus here in this world. 18 Such love has no fear because perfect love expels all fear. If we are afraid, it is for fear of punishment, and this shows that we have not fully experienced his perfect love.
Now, focus on the love of God towards you as you consciously meditate on Jesus presence in your dead situation, to give you life and hope. Don’t wait for somebody to point you to how impossible your situation is, but rather speak, confess and declare to yourself; “I am loved and dearly accepted by Jesus today for resurrection, healing, salvation; I boldly declare that, I am wired to function in the capacity of the quality life, on this side of eternity”
This love is irrevocable, magnificent, irresistible good; There is nothing you can do to make God love you less or love you more. This understanding will cause you to sit back and own it when even you are in the grave of sin, you can be forgiven, healed and restored to live freely again, in the land of the living. Remember, this old Sunday school song;
Yes, Jesus loves me
Yes, Jesus loves me
For the Bible tells me so
“My friend see how He loves you and watch this same love, expel all your fears and doubts, today. Our God is love”
– McDaniels Gyamfi
WATCH OUT FOR THE HOLE BEFORE YOU TRIP! – “Watch out for people who try to dazzle you with big words and intellectual double-talk. They want to drag you off into endless arguments that never amount to anything. They spread their ideas through the empty traditions of human beings and the empty superstitions of spirit beings. But that’s not the way of Christ. Everything of God gets expressed in him, so you can see and hear him clearly. You don’t need a telescope, a microscope, or a horoscope to realize the fullness of Christ, and the emptiness of the universe without him. When you come to him, that fullness comes together for you, too. His power extends over everything”. Colossians 2:8-10 (The Message)
In December of 2011, while we were in a 21 day prayer and fasting for the Church of Jesus Christ I had a vision from the Holy Spirit while sitting in my car praying with other believers in a phone conferencing or prayer hotline. In this vision;”I saw myself and a host of clergy men in their official clerical costumes with each one of us holding PICK AXE in our hands digging a deep HOLE in the earth surface. This was one big hole and with zeal and passion each one of us were putting in effort to dig deeper”
I had a teary eye and a whirlwind of sorrow and hopelessness overwhelmed my whole being like I have never felt before whiles I watch us perform. Instantly, an interpretation was given to me by the Holy Spirit. He said; “THERE IS EMPTINESS IN MY CHURCH” He continued; “my servants have a dug a big hole of emptiness in the hearts and soul of the Church and they keep digging deeper and deeper and deeper; and in time of test and trials due to the emptiness in their hearts they (my Church) struggle to prevail”. “Their prayers have all become an activity before me, they feel condemned and unrighteous; neither do they have an intimate relationship with me and their emptiness is perpetual. I am the only one that satisfies the thirsty, yet my servants are not projecting me unto My Church”
Many are standing on quick sands and slipping slowly into despair because Christ which is the only unmovable rock that will stand the test of time is not the centre of their religion but self sits on the throne trying to rule and reign her own affairs in her own terms. Just as Moses lifted up the bronze serpent in the wilderness and those bitten by poisonous snakes lived again, so must we exalt Christ Jesus like a neon billboard that all that travels on the untested terrain of this dark tunnel of life can draw life and light to accelerate in the journey effortlessly! “It’s all about Him plus nothing”
Apostle Paul warns the Church at Colosse to watch out for people who try to dazzle you with big words and intellectual double-talk. His power extends over everything. This is the abundant life; the well where the thirsty and dissatisfied souls find rest and comfort.
But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtlety, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ. (2 Corinthians 11:3 KJV)
WHAT TIME IS IT? It is time we drop our pick axe gospel of self works, legalism, commercialization, sexism, materialism, condemnation which has become the order of the day and share light on God’s grace gospel which is simple and yet has the power to build the total man from the inside out and grant us an inheritance with eternal value.
Apostle Paul through the Holy Spirit spoke to the leaders of the Ephesus Church in his farewell address to be committed to God and the timeless truth and principles of the word of His grace which has great benefits to keep them from false brethren and demonic concepts. The sound of the great Apostle still echoes through the corridors of time to the 21st century church…
Acts 20:32New (NKJV) “So now, brethren, I commend you to God and to the word of His grace, which is able to build you up and give you an inheritance among all those who are sanctified.
A mind corrupted by wrong theology or belief system about God and who we are in Him leads to all kinds of behaviors and malfunctioning in life. If the body of Christ is denied of her ability to behold the beauty and pleasant nature of Christ through the preaching of the Gospel which Paul says “Is able to build you up and not only that but to also give us an inheritance” … then we deepen the vacuum of emptiness which plagues most Christians rather than experiencing this amazing grace independent of our self occupation and willpower to access the boundless riches in Christ. This is not a matter denominational or doctrinal over protection; it’s a matter of giving people the chance to see Jesus and ruling out all man centered religion and traditions out of the window. Are you ready to be a part and parcel of this movement?
BUILDING NEW ALTARS I share the same passion with Malcom Smith 110% on what really matters now; preaching the gospel which is the power unto salvation and not works. He clearly sounds the trumpet from the roof top that we will all hear…
“Preaching the gospel, we are announcing the news of the revelation of who God is and how He feels about us. We stand on the street corners of the world shouting the news that God is not the way we thought He was – He loves us!!… This is the greatest news in the world… The love of God…is the magnetic north of truth by which we fix our position as we stumble lost in the wilderness of the world…To know that His love for us depends on Him and not on us is the beginning of the way out of the futile, meaningless lives and religious despair”
The pulpit has to be oiled again with the passion to see people transformed and not modified into robots without the ever abiding life of Christ flowing in them. Jesus said He came purposely to give us His own life in full measure. If this is heaven agenda, then the burden is not on us anymore but we must embrace this life by faith to impact us in all that we do on this side of eternity… “The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly “- John 10:10 (NKJV)
The pulpit needs repentance from dead works and come back to a true relationship with the King of Kings and Lord of Lords and stop beating people with do’s and don’ts when they’ve really not been empowered to know their true identity. You don’t beat a servant and torture him to think and operate like a king when his mind is beat down and contained in a prison of unworthiness, shame and insignificance. We tell people to become what they are not on the inside by throwing fire and brimstone on them through condemnation and we see them fake their identity, righteousness, boldness etc. and celebrate their modification whiles they struggle under the cloak of self effort and hypocrisy. Teach me who I am and effortlessly, I will discover who I am and live naturally as God intended through the indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit.
More importantly we seriously need to go back to the basics of Christianity; when discipleship was the priority, quiet times, morning devotions, love for God and neighbors, hearing of God’s voice, fanning into flame gifts of the Spirit in the church… not just one man commercializing the gift whiles everybody sits under their feet like kings. Oh’ how I miss the days when our Pastors who didn’t have much, spent their precious time with us in the neighborhood and explained the scriptures. Where are the fathers?
A PARADIGM SHIFT The Spirit of God is raising an end time crusaders who with selfless devotion will rise and rebel against the status quo and the order of the day with anguish in their heart to snatch out a generation from darkness and speak the oracles of God to the nations with passion and an obsession for Jesus.
This vision from the Lord completely set me free from legalism, guilt, condemnation and emptiness of trying to do it on my own. It was like God throwing gasoline into my life and radically ignited my heart on fire with a brand new passion and purpose to see the beauty of the person of Christ and spread the fragrance of His grace in every place. This has been my single pursuit for the past two years and I have seen men radically transformed from bondage to freedom, weakness to champions and from glory to glory as they rest and feast on the finish work of Christ. Friend, it’s my sincere desire and prayer to God that you experience a new fond of love, joy and peace inwardly like Apostle Paul desired and prayed to God on the behalf of the Ephesus Church that the Lord;
16 May He grant you out of the rich treasury of His glory to be strengthened and reinforced with mighty power in the inner man by the [Holy] Spirit [Himself indwelling your innermost being and personality]. 17 May Christ through your faith [actually] dwell (settle down, abide, make His permanent home) in your hearts! May you be rooted deep in love and founded securely on love, 18 That you may have the power and be strong to apprehend and grasp with all the saints [God’s devoted people, the experience of that love] what is the breadth and length and height and depth [of it]; 19 [That you may really come] to know [practically, [a]through experience for yourselves] the love of Christ, which far surpasses [b]mere knowledge [without experience]; that you may be filled [through all your being] [c]unto all the fullness of God [may have the richest measure of the divine Presence, and [d]become a body wholly filled and flooded with God Himself]! – Ephesians 3:16-19 (AMP)
Join the revolution of exalting Christ Jesus above man made religion by surrendering your PICK AXE!
I want to thank all of you who took the time through out this week to browse through Gravity of Grace. I hope you’ve been inspired, encouraged and above all drawn closer to the beauty of the person of Christ. You don’t know what it means to me to know that you are living each day encouraged in your life journeys.
Don’t stop and don’t give up no matter your current condition or situation. You can feed on the loveliness of a God who dearly loves you and always want to lavish you with His goodness. Men promise love and don’t have what it takes to back it up – they fail, disappoint, lets down and what have you. Remember, its only God who demands from us the fulfillment of His great purpose and still takes over to fulfill His plan in and through us. You can hang on to this glorious promise from the word of God, if life feels like running on a treadmill;
I Thessalonians 5:24 “God will make this happen, for he who calls you is faithful”
Hold on, my dear friend and don’t throw in the towel. Help is here and it is now, as you take each step and every breath trusting in His faithfulness to stand by you till what He called you forth, He makes it happen or bring to pass. Evaluate your situation if you are trusting Him enough or you are depending on your will power? It is He who makes it happen! Aren’t that awesome?
“I pray for you and your family for increase in every arena of your life. May He turn the tables for your favor in every battle of your life, heal your marriage, heal your body and mind and strengthen you with the Holy Ghost to withstand every onslaught of the evil one and buckle you comfortably with His goodness and mercy to accelerate with unusual wisdom as you navigate through untested terrains of life”. Amen!
You will never become a statistic nor a face in the crowd. Get up, wipe your tears, dust off the doubts, put a smile on your face and in the power of the Lord face every second, minutes and each day of your life like a true conqueror….that is who you are and not what the inner critic keeps pounding in your mind. Believe and expect uncommon CHANGE!
In a world where total security and self-worth is justified by how many friends you can surround yourself with and the material wealth and fame you have. Our pressing desire for friends and material wealth to fill the vacuum in our lives has always hit rock bottom. We always find ourselves in a position to buy what we don’t need to impress on people to raise the level of our self worth and the evil tendency of finding ourselves in wrong company and wrong places at a wrong time is just a tip of the iceberg. They are all a façade and an illusion to the human quest for fulfillment. A new ride, a mansion and designer wear, a new class of people can change your status to size up with the best but I can bet you, in three to four months everything you have will lose its appeal and the cushion they give to you will be out-of-place with time. “Things” are temporal only God is eternal and when He is the center of what we have; what a great joy it brings”
People that come into our lives in God’s plan and purpose are to sharpen us to see the fullness of God in Christ and ponder that quality life of God to compliment our uniqueness in God but not to fulfill our emotional needs in and of themselves. Have you ever met a person thinking; “wow, this is a soul mate” “how cool s/he is and all that kind of stuff” and later when the layers of that person’s life begun to fall off, you realize s/he is not different from a demon? It is only men that have life that can give you life!
For instance, it is the responsibility of every husband to provide security, affection and love for their wives and family. Let me be realistic here, my friend…no man in and of themselves will be able to provide what they have not received from God, even in their utmost best. This means, man whether rich or poor will try in the best interest of their family to give out the best, but their best will not be enough to meet a woman’s emotional need daily. It is important that we shift our focus from man and look unto Jesus daily in our relationships, for Him to manifest Himself in their lives by faith that we may not be totally disappointed. The standards we set for mortal men who don’t have the quality of life or God or are living by that life are too high for any man to fulfill….the reason we see two people before the altar on friday and goes to the divorce court on Tuesday and all the inconsistencies in many relationships.
Don’t harbor bitterness against your partner or friends for their inability to meet your emotional expectations in all arena’s of your relationship. That kind of life will have an adverse effect on your destiny one way or the other and later be regretted for your high standards for a mortal man. Be thankful to God for his or her best life and trust the Lord to manifest in the dead areas of that person to compliment who you are in Christ. It is a defeated purpose to surround yourself with people who don’t have Christ life or the E-Life; chose your friends carefully, don’t propose to a person because of his or her looks and later to be caged in a prison of despair… because his or her cuteness and sexiness will definitely become very familiar and can’t also serve a purpose that only God can.
Friend, the words of Jesus to instill peace and direction spoken over 2,000 years ago still echoes deeply to the very foundation of our society for us to hear and apply the truth of His word so that we would be freed from the chains of materialism which contains our soul to the neglect of a loving God; “And He said to them, Guard yourselves and keep free from all covetousness (the immoderate desire for wealth, the greedy longing to have more); for a man’s life does not consist in and is not derived from possessing overflowing abundance or that which is over and above his needs”. (Luke 12:15 (AMP). Remember; “God is not against you having possessions; He is against possessions having you. Don’t forget He is called a Jealous God and wants no distractions in His relationship with you”. Christ must become the center of your material wealth and not the material wealth as the center of your life. Being anchored to sinking riches and mortal men is like building skyscrapers in sand, without a solid foundation to sustain the building for a longer time.
‘For in him we live and move and have our being.’[A] As some of your own poets have said, ‘We are his offspring. (Acts 17:28 NIV)
