GOD IS NOT A SECRET TO BE KEPT

5 Be wise in the way you act toward outsiders; make the most of every opportunity. 6 Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone.
Colossians 4:5-6 (NIV 1984)

The grace of God is inclusive! It is very interesting how Jesus gravitated toward sinners armed with love, compassion to bring them to a place of son ship and covenant. The grace of God is not exclusively for the Church folks or Christians. Jesus did not die for Christians, His death on the rugged cross at Calvary made us righteous but our walk of righteousness mark us as Christians (Christ-like Acts 11:26)
For centuries, the Church has monopolized and arrogates Jesus exclusive of all others and therefore acts unwisely toward outsiders. (The unsaved brothers-lesbians, gamblers, prostitutes, Moslems and those outside of our denominational lines)

“The Church of Christ was considered an enclosure; a field, or vineyard, well hedged or walled. Those who were not members of it, were considered without; i.e. not under that special protection and defense which the true followers of Christ had. This has been since called “The pale of the Church,” from palus, a stake; or, as Dr. Johnson defines it, “A narrow piece of wood, joined above and below to a rail, to enclose grounds.” As to be a Christian was essential to the salvation of the soul, so to be in the Church of Christ was essential to the being a Christian; therefore it was concluded that “there was no salvation out of the pale of the Church” –Adam Clarke

A sad situation is been witness by all. The 21st century church is not different from the Church of the 15th and 17th centuries, but the problem is ours are unselfless driven locomotive. In the midst of the uncertainties and drama being unfolded, I see a ray of hope on the horizon for the body Christ.
The conversion of the unsaved is the heartbeat of God. (John 3:16) The reason Jesus gave up His life. The duty of the Church is to push the agenda of God as good ambassadors of Jesus Christ (2Cor 5:18-20). God is not a secret to be kept; we should go public as a city on a hill shining brighter with the full gospel of Gods loveliness to a dying world.

It has been said that, The Church is the only army that kills its wounded soldiers.

Beloved, the next time you meet your unsaved friends, consciously rest in the power of the Holy Spirit so your conversation will not focus on the past wounds of your Pastor, the failings of the Church or indiscreet act of a sister or a brother in the Church. Such conversations are amateurish and tasteless. It’s not seasoned with salt to protect the image of the church of Christ and its wounded soldiers and neither does it have the power to convict the unsaved brother. Therefore, my friend be the more on your guard in your dealings with the unsaved, lest you be a stumbling-block to their conversion.
Colossians 4:6 “Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt”

Tasteless gospel of condemnation, denominationalism, politics, and race, creed, are being packaged from the pulpit all over the world, without the savor of fresh and lively wisdom of the mystery of God’s grace through Jesus Christ will dispel people rather than being compelled to run to God.
Don’t get me wrong here; we should hit it hard at home when we have to. The truth of the matter is “Our hardness and facts cannot transform people inwardly, it is the gospel that transforms people from the inside out” The Apostle of grace, Paul echoes this in “Romans 1:16 I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile”.
If the Spirit says “Let your conversations be always full of grace, seasoned with salt- Is not an option, we are required by God to always, always, and always diffuse grace when even it doesn’t feel like. Did God show grace and mercy to you when you deserved to have died in sin and yet gave you heavens best to swap places with you? (2 Corinthians 5:21)

Friend, freely you’ve received without measure, freely without measure give to all men hope through the power of Christ, irrespective of their sins, denominational background or the color of the eye or skin.

You are an agent of grace to graceless places.
