Month: March 2013

Love and faith are the most powerful forces on earth. Love births and drives the later. This means love commands faith to perform. Without love; giving is genuinly impossible and living will never exist . By love faith creates life and by it with nothing everything was made. What love cannot deliver nothing can. Love is never a feeling as many believe; though it can be felt. Love is not a mere action provoked by feelings because it can be acted and feigned. Love is not lust. Love is not truly defined by the first drunken stages of burning affection or that strong early emotional stage of its existence or discovery for someone. I mean that early stage of love between a man and a woman. True love lingers on; it is tested, consistent, and enduring no matter how long it lasts. It is too strong to be broken in courts- divorce. Love is stronger than mere marital bond. Love is not one of those things you stumble on or you discover on the path of life. Love is a decision. Love is not a passionate feeling of romantic or sexual desire for someone. Even a harlot feels the same for an exceptionally desirable client. Love is not born out of the flesh, it is not a fruit of the soul; though defined and articulated by it. Love is the wellspring of the spirita- the highest self of man HIDDEN IN THE HEART. The most powerful things are of the spirit even memory not intellect. The sense-governed mind is limited but the spirit is limitless. Also the things of the spirit, for love is limitless, unbarred and unstoppable.

If all definitions above fail to define love, then what is love?

We are all used to one or more definitions of love above, yet love is never any of those descriptions. Before I define love you need to know that Love is not a principle neither is it a strategy or a psychology. Love even faith is a spiritual force. From my short three decades of existence, studies, researches and loads of observations and from both my painful and joyful experiences I have come to realise that; love is simply giving and giving and giving until it hurts without any form of selfish gains whatsoever. Every giving in love is deliberately and absolutely targeted to the profitting of the beneficiary. You can give without loving but you can never love without giving. For giving is the only and ultimate proof of love. Giving to a dimension, magnitude and how that it costs you pains but absolute gains to your beneficiary.Mother Teresa, the ‘angel of mercy’ who founded the Missionaries of Charity In Kolkata, which set up about 570 homes for the poor and spread in about 125 countries, serving the poorest of the poor has these to say in her National Prayer Break fast Speech in Washinton D.C. on February 4, 1994.She said, ”Love always hurts…Love begins at home, and It is not how much we do but how much love we put into what we do. I had the most extraordinary experience of love of a neighbour from a Hindu family. A gentleman came to our house and said ,” Mother Teresa there is a family who has not eaten for long. Do something.“ So I took some rice and went there immediately . And I saw the children, their eyes shinning with hunger . I don’t know if you have ever seen hunger but I have seen it very often. And the mother of the family took the rice I gave her, “Where did you go? What did you do?” And she gave me a very simple answer: ”They are hungry also.” What struck me was that she knew (despite her hungry state). “And who were they?” A muslim family. And she knew. I didn’t bring any more rice that evening, because I wanted them, Hindus and Muslims- to enjoy the joy of sharing. But there those children, radiating joy, sharing the joy and peace with their mother because she had the love to give until it hurts. And you see , this is where love begins: at home, in the family. God will never forget us, and there is something you and I can always share that joy with all we come in contact with. Let us make that one point: that no one, no child will be unwanted, unloved, uncared for, or killed and thrown away. And give until it hurts- with a smile… One evening we went out and we picked up four people from the street. And one of them was in a terrible condition. I told the Sisters: “You take care of the other three; I will take care of the one who looked worse.” So I did for her all that my love can do. I put her in bed, and there was a beautiful smile on her face. She took hold of my hand, and she said one thing only: Thank you.”Then she died.I could not help but examine my conscience before her. I asked “What would I say if I were in her place? And my answer was very simple. I would have tried to draw a little attention to my self. I would have said, I am hungry, I am dying, I am cold, I am in pain” or something like that. But she gave me much more- she gave me her grateful love. And she died with (love) a smile on her face. Then there was the man we picked up from the drain, half-eaten by worms. And after we had brought him home, he only said, “I have lived like an animal in the street , but I am going to die as an angel, loved and cared for.” Then, after we had removed the worms in this body, all he said – with a big smile- was: Sister I am going home to God.” And he died. It was so wonderful to see the greatness of that man, who could speak like that without blaming anybody, without comparing anything. Like an angel, this is the greatness of people who are spiritually rich, even when they are materially poor.”

The state of a person, an organization or a nation either in lack or abundance or wellbeing is a reflection of the love that has been given or received or the love withheld in hatred. We can never be too poor or too rich to give. Neither can we be too weak or too strong to give. Love is so limitless no matter the pressure and condition, it always gives. No matter who you are or how you are or where you are with love, you will always be a genuine giver.

In this book we will address the burning issues and the unrevealed truth about love; its painful emissions, promotional levels, transitional and projectile powers of love. We will also clarify its true source, true nature, its classifications and fluidity, its potency and above all the trans-generational impact and rewards of love. This love note is a powerful and secretive emissary from me to you.

“The world may spin around unceasingly and the mountains be removed and Wall Street is shut down completely, the counsel of God concerning your life and that of yours will not hang in a balance. Only do not stop, for God has been working until now to fulfill His purpose on earth through men.”

Mark 5:35-36 New English Translation
35 While he was still speaking, people came from the synagogue ruler’s house saying, “Your daughter has died. Why trouble the teacher any longer?” 36 But Jesus, paying no attention to what was said, told the synagogue ruler, “Do not be afraid; just believe.”

Death is the cessation of life. Sometimes life loses its savor and flavor and the writing on the wall and the signs in the blue skies are bold and clear enough for the ignoble to read and interpret your situation as, “totally impossible”. Those moments are very frustrating; one simple decision can make you or cause you to surrender to despair.

Many have given up in life embittered and disappointed in God and the people they thought didn’t do too much to help them sail through their storms. God is a God of miracles. He always knows the end from the beginning and is not afraid of detours, dead ends, no exit and stop signs. He always has the right means to get us to the right destination. He makes a way where there seems to be no way. All He requires from us is to totally trust Him to do the impossible in our lives, by His power.

I have seen it time and time again in ministry, even as you love the Lord and want to do His will and fulfill a mandate on your life, you do whatever humanly you can and it seems your efforts is fizzled into the thin air and your own shadow is telling you, “pal, this ain’t gonna work” “am tired of following you” “it is time we try something else”. That is crazy; your own shadow is even tired and burned out already.

In 2005, our Church landlord (New York) called me to his office because we were struggling to pay $515 monthly rent. Paul, who was a kind Jewish man looked straight into my eye and said, “Young man I have observed you and I know you love God, but if you milk a cow and the cow don’t give you milk you try something else and in the future when the dust settles down you can once again put your hands on the cow to see what is in store”. That was wisdom from Paul, but all that he was telling me was to quit indirectly. Man always has their opinions but it is the counsel of the Lord that will stand. To make a long story short, God turned my captivity around because He saw resurrection from an almost dead dream.

As soon as Jesus heard the word that was spoken he said unto the ruler of the synagogue, BE NOT AFRAID, ONLY BELIEVE (Mark 5:36)

Jairus heard death, Jesus saw life in a dead situation therefore entreated him not to allow the law of fear to governed the seat of his heart but to have faith in Him. Don’t quit my friend and never allow the nay Sayers to stop you on your tracks. It might seem like you have come to the dead end of life. If you can hold on for another day, another second, another week, another month and another year patiently holding on to His grace you will hear Him say, “Talitha koum” which means, “Little girl, I say to you, get up.”

Some things are gonna rise up again because God don’t stop in the face of death.

17 And you will be hated by all for My name’s sake. 18 But not a hair of your head shall be lost. Luke 21:17-18

You can’t stop folks from hating you but you can stop haters from caging your mind in the prison of bitterness, unforgiveness and revenge.

You will be hated not for who you are but of whom you are from. Our uncommonness from society through our union with Christ disturbs the agenda of Satan and he will always impress men to be hostile to your life and the purpose of God concerning you. It is sometimes funny and strange when Satan uses the very people who know scriptures against you. I am talking about Church folks and family members. You will be hated by all. By all, includes….you have already pictured them!

By your patience possess your souls. Luke 21:19

Your patient trust in God will deliver your mind from extreme pressures of anxiety, fear, loneliness and the frustration motivated by our haste to take matters into our own hands. Vengeance is God’s and not ours. The battle is the Lord and not ours. Patience will unleash unusual peace to prevail in your mind.

Thank you Jesus was in the past affirmed and echoed by the Church religiously without any sense of conviction and understanding. It now means a lot to me. When I shout it into the heavens or soliloquized it in my heart, it really means a lot to me. The simple knowledge of a God who honestly loves me with relentless, passionate, everlasting and irresistible love of white – hot intensity of a thousand suns, not because I’m lovely but it’s in His nature to love me unconditionally. This love stirs in me the hope to shout with certainty in my heart from my deepest valleys of fear to the highest mountains of His acceptance.
Thank you Jesus!

The weight of Jesus suffering on the cross over 2,000 years ago has placed wretched men into the status of freed people.

This easter, remember to celebrate the weight of His love towards you by taking the time to ponder on this so great grace.

Grace to you and yours in an unlimited measure!

I was walking down life pathway
Not so very long ago
When I looked up and saw a sign
Heaven’s Grocery Store.
I got a little closer and the door swung open wide.
The next thing I knew I was standing there inside.
I saw a host of angels. They were standing everywhere.
One handed me a basket and said,
“My child, now shop with care.”
Everything a Christian needed
Was in that Grocery Store
And what you couldn’t carry out
You could come back next day for more.
Well, first I got some patience,
Love is in the same row.
Further down was understanding.
You need those everywhere you go.
I got a box or two of wisdom
And a bar or two of faith
You couldn’t miss the Holy Ghost
He was all over the place.
I didn’t forget salvation
For salvation—that was free.
I wanted to get enough of that
To save both you and me.
There was meekness, longsuffering and gentleness
I saw these at a glance.
I knew I’d better get some.
I would never have a better chance.
I stopped to get some courage
To help me run life’s race.
Then my basket was getting full
And I remembered I needed grace.
Then I started for the counter to pay my grocery bill
I thought I had most everything to do the Father’s will.
And I saw prayer, I just had to put that in.
I knew when I stepped outside the door, I’d run right into sin.
Joy and peace were plentiful
And they were on the same shelf
Songs and praises were hanging everywhere
So I just helped myself.
Then I said to the angel
How much do I really owe
He smiled and said just take them
Everywhere you go.
But I said no—I want to pay.
How much do I really owe?
He said Jesus paid it all on Calvary
A long time ago.

1 Samuel 17:36 NKJV Your servant has killed both lion and bear; and this uncircumcised Philistine will be like one of them, seeing he has defied the armies of the living God.

You are engaging in warfare against high powers of the devil and his cohorts in the spirit realm, which affects your practical life daily. You must remember, you are dealing with an age old con artist and not a novice. He easily prevails against those who do not possess the intelligence of the supernatural arsenals available for them in times of gloom and darkness. Friend, the good news is this; we are not defeated folks trying to master courage for one shot to knock out the devil out and celebrate for a moment and goes back into failure mentality. We are more than conquerors through Christ Jesus and He leads us daily (always) into triumph. (See Rom 8:37, 1Cor 2:14-15)

There comes a time when it seems like all hell has broken loose on you and between you and help is like a custom built glass ceiling is hanging over your head. These moments has the potential to annihilate you or bring you out like gold through the refining process of fire. Extra- ordinary inspiration and boost is always needed to awaken our entire being, when the odds are too high or low to withstand unusual and the uncommon activity in you.

Mr. Merriam Webster New World Dictionary defines inspiration as; to breathe or blow upon or into, to infuse (life, etc. into) by breathing, to draw (air) into the lungs; inhale, to have an animating effect upon; influence or impel; esp., to stimulate or impel to some creative or effective effort, to cause, guide, communicate, or motivate as by divine or supernatural influence, to affect with a specified feeling or thought: to inspire someone with fear.

Friend, you have two well fortified castles or museums of your past established in your subconscious mind. One contains the junk of your mistakes whiles the other is well furnished with the treasures of your achievements, success and all the things you’ve overcome over the years through grace. The sad reality is that most people want to walk in victory today, yet they live in the museum of their past mistakes, musing over every detail, exactitude and preciseness of the dark times which stimulates guilt, shame and condemnation instead of tearing it down by sowing new seeds of who they are in Christ to generate an inspiration for the now battles and the future challenges. (See Rom 12:1-3)

My friend, you don’t have to wait for inspiration; you can generate supernatural inspiration in a very pitch black hostile environment, where everything including your very own shadow wants to disown you. Do you know that it’s easy to be passive, isolative, emotional, and wimpy and hide from friends and feel neglected instead of rising up on the inside and be proactive on the promises of God concerning your situation?

This has been the attitude of most believers but that was not the way David reacted in the face of adversity in a hostile situation. David had the audacity to silence his brothers and critics because he could rehearse the Lords victory through his hand over the lion and the bear in his memory bank. This act of faith activated inspiration and the confidence in God to be able to boldly declare; this uncircumcised Philistine will be like one of them. Is like saying this too shall pass not by my own strength but by the supernatural power of God that was with me at the back of the field and its still is with me to overcome again.

“Your testimony incubated in the mind will evoke, infuse and impel the breath of life into your weak lungs to accelerate you into purpose.”

So many folks easily give up on the edge of breakthrough, all because conditions were not fair and all they could see was the hand writting of failure and absolute impossibility on the wall of life. That was not the attitude of young David, contrary to the popular opinions of his brothers and King Saul when God was setting him up for an epic victory against Goliath, the champion of the Phillistines who has fought from his youth and have all the accolades to prove. Have a new perspective about life challenges, they are opportunities to sky rocket you unto destiny and not to fold you up like a brown paper bag. Rise up and speak against this mountain, get into a time of worship, prayer, and sometimes do a dance just by yourself as you look unto Jesus for inspiration in all things.

Wisdom Tablet:

Always remember to check your rear view mirrors of life as often as you can whiles you navigate through untested, untried, sophisticated terrains; Inspiration will save your soul from perspiration whose closest pal is expiration – McGyamfi

5 Be wise in the way you act toward outsiders; make the most of every opportunity. 6 Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone.
Colossians 4:5-6 (NIV 1984)

The grace of God is inclusive! It is very interesting how Jesus gravitated toward sinners armed with love, compassion to bring them to a place of son ship and covenant. The grace of God is not exclusively for the Church folks or Christians. Jesus did not die for Christians, His death on the rugged cross at Calvary made us righteous but our walk of righteousness mark us as Christians (Christ-like Acts 11:26)
For centuries, the Church has monopolized and arrogates Jesus exclusive of all others and therefore acts unwisely toward outsiders. (The unsaved brothers-lesbians, gamblers, prostitutes, Moslems and those outside of our denominational lines)

“The Church of Christ was considered an enclosure; a field, or vineyard, well hedged or walled. Those who were not members of it, were considered without; i.e. not under that special protection and defense which the true followers of Christ had. This has been since called “The pale of the Church,” from palus, a stake; or, as Dr. Johnson defines it, “A narrow piece of wood, joined above and below to a rail, to enclose grounds.” As to be a Christian was essential to the salvation of the soul, so to be in the Church of Christ was essential to the being a Christian; therefore it was concluded that “there was no salvation out of the pale of the Church” –Adam Clarke

A sad situation is been witness by all. The 21st century church is not different from the Church of the 15th and 17th centuries, but the problem is ours are unselfless driven locomotive. In the midst of the uncertainties and drama being unfolded, I see a ray of hope on the horizon for the body Christ.
The conversion of the unsaved is the heartbeat of God. (John 3:16) The reason Jesus gave up His life. The duty of the Church is to push the agenda of God as good ambassadors of Jesus Christ (2Cor 5:18-20). God is not a secret to be kept; we should go public as a city on a hill shining brighter with the full gospel of Gods loveliness to a dying world.

It has been said that, The Church is the only army that kills its wounded soldiers.

Beloved, the next time you meet your unsaved friends, consciously rest in the power of the Holy Spirit so your conversation will not focus on the past wounds of your Pastor, the failings of the Church or indiscreet act of a sister or a brother in the Church. Such conversations are amateurish and tasteless. It’s not seasoned with salt to protect the image of the church of Christ and its wounded soldiers and neither does it have the power to convict the unsaved brother. Therefore, my friend be the more on your guard in your dealings with the unsaved, lest you be a stumbling-block to their conversion.
Colossians 4:6 “Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt”

Tasteless gospel of condemnation, denominationalism, politics, and race, creed, are being packaged from the pulpit all over the world, without the savor of fresh and lively wisdom of the mystery of God’s grace through Jesus Christ will dispel people rather than being compelled to run to God.
Don’t get me wrong here; we should hit it hard at home when we have to. The truth of the matter is “Our hardness and facts cannot transform people inwardly, it is the gospel that transforms people from the inside out” The Apostle of grace, Paul echoes this in “Romans 1:16 I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile”.
If the Spirit says “Let your conversations be always full of grace, seasoned with salt- Is not an option, we are required by God to always, always, and always diffuse grace when even it doesn’t feel like. Did God show grace and mercy to you when you deserved to have died in sin and yet gave you heavens best to swap places with you? (2 Corinthians 5:21)

Friend, freely you’ve received without measure, freely without measure give to all men hope through the power of Christ, irrespective of their sins, denominational background or the color of the eye or skin.

You are an agent of grace to graceless places.
